The Need: Zhengzhou Guoshi Experimental Middle School covers a total area of 90 acres, with a total designed building area of nearly 60000 square meters. The design can accommodate 90 classes with a maximum of 3150 students. At present, there is a shortage of hot water supply on campus, which cannot fully meet the daily needs of teachers and students. The school has decided to comprehensively upgrade and install the hot water system to create a more convenient, stable, and safe hot water supply environment.

The Challenge:

★The surge in demand during morning and evening washing, physical education classes, and other time periods can easily lead to insufficient hot water supply or queue congestion.

★The demand for hot water drops sharply during school holidays.

Configuration:

★Female Dormitory: 2,000 solar collectors + 4 sets of 10HP air-source heat pumps + 40-ton water tank

★Male Dormitory: 2,000 solar collectors + 4 sets of 10HP air-source heat pumps + 40-ton water tank

★Teachers’ Apartment: 600 solar collectors + 1 set of 10HP air-source heat pump + 10-ton water tank

★The system provides timed and segmented water supply, with full power heating activated during peak water usage periods and only solar heating during other periods to avoid energy waste during off peak hours.

★Add a variable frequency circulating pump, which can automatically adjust according to the water flow rate, maintain a constant water temperature in the pipeline, reduce the cold water discharge time when the faucet discharges water, and indirectly increase the available amount of hot water.

★Design for drainage and antifreeze: During holidays, open the drain valve at the end of the pipeline to drain the stored water in the outdoor pipeline, avoiding damage to the pipeline due to low-temperature icing and expansion; At the same time, close the water supply valves in non essential areas and only keep the hot water supply in necessary areas such as the duty room.
