The Need:Xixian People’s Hospital was founded in 1951 and is located at 668 Xiangmagong Avenue East, Xixian County, Xinyang City. The hospital covers an area of 200 acres with a total construction area of over 79000 square meters. With the continuous expansion of hospital scale and the deepening practice of energy-saving and environmental protection concepts, hospitals have put forward higher requirements for the stability, efficiency, and environmental protection of hot water supply systems. Due to the large number of hospitalized patients, medical staff, and visiting family members in the hospital, the daily use of hot water is considerable. The existing hot water supply system is unable to meet the increasing demand in terms of energy consumption and maintenance costs.
The Challenge:
★High water quality requirements: Special areas such as operating rooms, disinfection supply centers, laboratories, etc. have extremely high requirements for water quality (such as bacterial content, particles, electrical resistivity), which may require additional water treatment equipment
★24/7 uninterrupted operation: operating room ICU、 Emergency rooms, delivery rooms, and other critical areas must not have their heating and water supply interrupted.
★Redundant design: Multiple heat source devices, dual or multi circuit piping systems, backup water storage tanks, and emergency heat sources (such as electric heating) are required to ensure uninterrupted supply.
★Quick recovery: The recovery time after a fault is required to be extremely short.
Configuration:
★Hospital Rooms: 1,200 solar panels + 2 air source heat pumps + 2 10-ton water tanks
★Inpatient Department: 1,800 solar panels + 3 air source heat pumps + 1 24-ton water tank
★When it is cloudy and rainy, and there is insufficient sunlight in winter, the efficiency of solar energy collection may decrease, which may lead to insufficient hot water supply temperature or water shortage. Air energy can be used as a backup energy source.
★For hospitals with abundant lighting resources and ample roof space, this system is an ideal choice for long-term cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
